Republican murder victims of the conflict. The infamous H-Block, the prison configuration invented by the British jailers. Apparently it was adopted by the American Government for their prison at Guatanamo Bay.
Honouring the female fighters of the IRA.
Taxi drivers were routinely murdered during the war, particularly those who picked up Catholics. To this day it is almost impossible to hail a cab in Belfast.
One of the many small commemorative gardens dedicated to the IRA supporters who lost their lives during the war.
Bruce LaBruce is a film-maker, writer, photographer, and artist sometimes stuck in the Gulag known as Toronto, Canada. He began his "career" in the mid-eighties making a series of short experimental super 8 films and co-editing a punk fanzine called J.D.s, which, for better or worse, begat the queercore movement. He has directed and starred in three filthy feature length movies, "No Skin Off My Ass" (1991), "Super 8 1/2" (1994), and "Hustler White" (1996) and he has directed two really filthy art/porn features, “Skin Flick” (2000)(hardcore version: “Skin Gang”) and “The Raspberry Reich” (2004)(hardcore version: “The Revolution Is My Boyfriend.”) His latest feature, “Otto; or, Up with Dead People”, is a melancholy gay zombie movie. He has written a premature memoir entitled “The Reluctant Pornographer”, from Gutter Press. A book on LaBruce’s work, “Ride Queer Ride”, was published in 1998 by the Plug-In Gallery in Winnipeg, Canada, but good luck trying to find a copy.
